Megan Smith is currently CEO of shift7 and was the 3rd US CTO. She started her career as an engineer at Apple's Tokyo office after which she worked at General Magic, the hottest new startup in the 1990s. General Magic was spun-off from Apple and its goal was to create a personal communicator for a post-PC world. They had a great idea and released a product that failed to gain traction. However, their ideas for a personal communicator went on to influence lot of other companies.
