Filmmaker Ben Rekhi grew up in Los Gatos, which is the world headquarters of Netflix. Although he grew up in the heart of Silicon Valley Rekhi decided to head south to Los Angeles to become a dream merchant. Rekhi studied film at NYU and interned with Coen Brothers for OH! BROTHER WHERE ART THOU? Rekhi also worked with George Clooney on capturing the behind-the-scene scenes for CONFESSIONS OF A DANGEROUS MIND. Rekhi then spent time learning the ropes of the business right from writing and directing films to sales and distribution. "In New York you make films, and in LA you make deals," says Rekhi. In 2005 Rekhi made his first feature film WATERBORNE. Fast forward to 2018 and he has 3 new projects. Rekhi's latest film ASHRAM released in March 2018 that he directed and co-wrote. The film is a spiritual thriller set in India and stars Melissa Leo, Sam Keeley, Kal Penn, Radhika Apte and others. Rekhi is also working on a project for PBS and a feature thriller film MARIA set in Philippines.
