- Joe Robinson, Director of Strategic Partnerships at When People Work is also in the process of launching Life Navigation Systems, LLC, an online personal development and life and business coaching company. Joe was released in October 2016 after serving nearly 25 years in prison. He refused to let prison define or limit him, instead he transcended the harshness of prison life. While in prison, Joe served on the board of several inmate organizations and facilitated a broad range of classes. In 2005, Joe married Sheila Rule, then a Senior Editor at The New York Times. Together they self-published his book Think Outside the Cell: An Entrepreneur’s Guide for the Incarcerated and Formerly Incarcerated; Joe and Shelia co-founded the Think Outside the Cell Foundation; published a book series and have held a number of important convenings on topics relating to criminal justice issues. Ralphy Dominguez, is the Founder of PEN & PISTOL, he also serves as the CEO and Creative Director. In his role there, he is overseeing the day-to- day operations of the brand. Ralphy studied Economics at Wheaton College as a Posse Foundation Scholar. Subsequently, he ran a multi-million dollar illegal drug operation in New England, culminating in his 5 year Federal prison sentence. Upon release, Ralphy embarked on his entrepreneurship journey by starting PEN & PISTOL, a brand that would speak to his personal story of transformation.
